Outback, arid & interstate
Occasionally we leave our local region of Gippsland, Victoria and schedule a nature tour to share the amazing landscapes and natural history of some arid areas. Our favourites are the northwest corner of Victoria with its Mallee and Murray River landscapes or the Flinders Ranges in South Australia.
If you are a birdwatcher, both these destinations provide an incredible variety of birdlife, but its not all about birds. Nature experiences of all sorts present themselves and in these dry environments, reptiles are another wildlife group that features strongly. Interesting plants with wildflowers in season (often after rain at any time of year), along with rich Aboriginal and European settlement history add more layers of interest to learn about.
In 2021-2022 we will be recommending you book an outback or arid tour with our trusted colleagues at Inala Nature Tours while our focus remains on East Gippsland Tours. They have prepared a special departure on their Outback South Australia Tour - fossils & Opals(April 2022) to help provide a similar arid land nature experience.
