Outback, arid & interstate
Occasionally we leave our local region of Gippsland, Victoria and schedule a nature tour to share the amazing landscapes and natural history of some arid areas. Our favourites are the northwest corner of Victoria with its Mallee and Murray River landscapes or the Flinders Ranges in South Australia.
If you are a birdwatcher, both these destinations provide an incredible variety of birdlife, but its not all about birds. Nature experiences of all sorts present themselves and in these dry environments, reptiles are another wildlife group that features strongly. Interesting plants with wildflowers in season (often after rain at any time of year), along with rich Aboriginal and European settlement history add more layers of interest to learn about.
